New 5G networks have been all the rage for network providers. Promising super fast speeds and incredible connectivity, consumers and businesses alike are ready for the upgrade. But, in order to access 5G you need a 5G device.
5G – it’s the biggest tech buzzword of 2019 so far (with foldable smartphones as a close second) and it’s obvious why as we’ve certainly come a long way. While 1G was useful, 2G gave us SMS and MMS texting options. The first 3G smartphone was actually announced in 2001 in Japan, allowing users to surf the ’net while on the go. In July 2008, we saw the first 3G iPhone (complete with your choice of 8GB or 16GB of storage). Then, 4G came on the scene in 2009, spreading 4G LTE and upgraded variants to countries all over the world.
